Something very similar happened in the US in the 1950's. Northrop designed and built a flying wing aircraft and it was successful too. I know because I worked for Northrop in the early 80's. Then, for some unknown reason, the government ordered all the aircraft destroyed and all the plans destroyed. Something really weird was happening in governments then. I wonder what it was?
